Beacon Theatre Hosts Special Setlist Nights For Tour Finale Sept. 30 - Oct. 8
      
     

LOS ANGELES, CA: A noble tradition continues when Steely Dan brings seven nights of special setlist shows to New York City's Beacon Theatre for the finale week of their Mood Swings: 8 Miles To Pancake Day tour. Returning to the landmark venue for another extended hometown run, Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Donald Fagen and Walter Becker will reprise the setlists of Classic Albums, Greatest Hits, and Audience Requests that garnered critical and audience raves in 2009 and 2011. The week will cap a 53-show tour which begins July 19 in Atlantic City.

American Express Cardmember Pre-Sale starts today, June 17, at 10 a. m., with General Public On Sale beginning Saturday June 22 @ 10 a.m. — all available through Ticketmaster. Fans looking for that extra deep dose of The Dan can also select from among three Beacon multi-show packages, snagging discounted prices while locking in the same seat location across multiple shows.

Los Angeles, Atlanta, Bristow, VA (DC), and Boston will also get the special setlist treatment.

Classic Album Nights open with one of Steely Dan's classics — Aja, Gaucho, or Royal Scam — performed in its entirety, start-to-finish. The evening then continues with additional selected favorites, making for a wide-ranging, hit-strewn ramble through Steely Dan's extraordinary 4-decade catalog. Attendees to Audience Request Night are asked to submit their favorite song at ticket purchase check-out. The Greatest Hits evenings are...well, we figure Steely Dan fans can pretty much puzzle that one out for themselves.

For this repertoire, only the most bodacious of supporting bands will do. Happily, that band takes the stage this year as The Bipolar Allstars with The Borderline Brats (featuring Keith Carlock on drums, Freddie Washington on bass, Jim Beard on keyboards, and Jon Herington on guitar) — none other than the acclaimed supporting musicians who continue to burnish the Dan songbook with astonishing musicality and inventiveness.

STEELY DAN has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide and helped define the soundtrack of the '70s with hits such as Reelin' in the Years, Rikki Don't Lose That Number, F.M., Peg, Hey Nineteen, Deacon Blues, and Babylon Sisters, culled from their seven platinum albums issued between 1972 and 1980 (including 1977's ground breaking "Aja"). They reunited in the early '90s, launching a string of sold-out tours. "Mood Swings 2013: 8 Miles To Pancake Day" Begins July 19		    
     

LOS ANGELES, CA: Legendary jazz-rock icons Walter Becker and Donald Fagen have announced that STEELY DAN will hit the road again in 2013, taking their Mood Swings: 8 Miles To Pancake Day Tour to over four dozen stops throughout North America.

Opening in Atlantic City on July 19, the tour hits major markets including Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, and Boston, with additional special engagements to be announced soon [Ed. Note: Seven New York City shows at the Beacon Theatre, Sep. 30 - Oct. 8 have been added]. Tickets for several shows are on sale now, with most on-sale dates to be announced in the coming weeks. Most shows will offer pre-sales for American Express Cardmembers

Concertgoers can expect an evening of the same high-level of musical excellence that garnered raves from fans and critics alike, and which was described by The Los Angeles Times thusly: "Everyone gathered Friday evening was a believer — and they were treated to something close to rapture." The Chicago Sun-Times raved "This was different. This was live. This was vibrant. This was a cascade of color carried along by Fagen, Becker, eight brilliant supporting musicians and three superb backing vocalists."
